We have several versions of our "Gallatin" outdoor sconces. This small fixture is 8" wide by 11" high overall. The lantern part is 8" high. It extends from the wall a total of 9". The top is open to allow a bit of light upward and to provide venting. It would be suitable for indoor use or outdoors if under an eave or porch roof. It is very well made, with the metal parts a full 1/8" thick. The metal is finished in a powder coated black and the glass is seedy clear to give it an old fashioned look.
Use one bulb up to 100 watts. I recommend a clear globe such as a G-30, the type often used in a bath fixture. This provides a good amount of light without the shape of the bulb distracting from the look of the fixture.
