Rayvin Nampeyo Pot -custom rawhide chandelier A custom rawhide chandelier, rustic lodge style chandelier - Inventory from Corbett Art Gallery
Rayvin Nampeyo Pot

Pots by Rayvin Nampeyo rarely come available, and this is a great opportuniy to add to your collection. Rayvin Nampeyo (1961- ) Great-grandson of Nampeyo, grandson of Fannie Nampeyo, son of Leah Garcia Nampeyo and Lewis Garcia. In "Fourteen Families In Pueblo Pottery" Rayvin is quoted "...it's mainly my grandmother [Fannie Polacca Nampeyo] who taught me. I took her painting style, and I don't want to go into other designs." This wonderful jar is a full 8" diameter by 5 5/8" high. The top is 3 7/8" diameter. Rayvin signed the bottom and included the Corn Clan hallmark, as shown on page 185 of Hopi-Tewa Pottery 500 Artist Biographies. There are no chips, cracks or repairs on this specimen. There is some loss of pigment on one side, which looks to be related to the firing process. The geometric patterns on this Rayvin Nampeyo jar are more rare than his favorite "migration" patterns, making this piece especially collectable. It would make a great addition to any collection! I have other Native American pottery for sale as well, and will be willing to combine shipping charges to save the buyer some money. I always pack items in a careful and professional manner, and insure the shipment for the full value of the purchase price.
